Chlorogalum (Soap Plant), Chlorophytum (Spider Plant) & Diuranthera

Soap Plants (Chlorogalum spp.) belong to a small genus of herbaceous bulbous plants from western North America (Oregon to Baja California). They make a broad basal rosette or usually undulated leaves and a tall branching spike with white flowers.
Spider Plants (Chlorophytum spp.) is a broad genus of subtropical to tropical evergreen plants with ornamental, lush foliage.
Hardy Spider Plants (Diuranthera spp.) are a small genus with only four species which are all native of temperate-cool regions within China. They are herbaceous perennials and closely related to tropical spider plants (Chlorophytum spp.). Several branching flower stalks emerge with pure white flowers from a basal rosette of strap-like, pure green leaves in early summer.
All Chlorogalum and Diuranthera species are easily grown in any humus rich, well drained soil in a partially shaded spot.
Sow flat at some 5 to 15°C preferably in spring in any well drained soil in a partially shaded spot. Transplant dormant rhizomes/storage roots or bulbs after withering of leaves in autumn.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
