Pimpinella is an Eurasien and North American genus of perennial flowering plants which usually occur in meadows. The Canary Parsley is a subalpine species growing in full sun in rocky sites at al altitude of some 2000m. It has leathery, greyish-green leaves in a dense basal rosette and numerous losely branching inflorescences in early summer. The seeds have a strong, parsley-like flavor. Plants are best grown in a rocky, very well drained soil under frostfree conditions (in winter at a minimum of some 5°C) in full sun throughout the year. Alternatively, older plants may be tried in the open garden in a rain-sheltered position. Sow seeds flat in any rich, very well drained, preferably rocky soil at some 20°C. Keep pots always slightly moist in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep drier at a minimum of some 5°C.All are USDA Climate Zone 8. 20 seeds per package. |
