Viburnum (Hardy Snowball)

Snow Balls or Viburnum is a very diverse, large genus from the northern hemisphere with perennial, evergreen or deciduous, woody shrubs to small trees. Many species have very showy, fragrant flowers arranged in ball-like inflorescences and later on ornamental, bright colored berries in autumn. Most species are easily grown in any humus-rich, well drained soil in partial shade to full sun.
Sow in autumn in any rich, well drained, sandy soil in pots outside. Most seeds of hardy Viburnum species require a cooling period for several months before they will germinate in late spring. Transplant in autumn or late spring.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
