Cistus osbeckiaefolius ssp. osbeckiaefolius

100 (150)cm, a rather rare, low woody shrub, known from only few sites in the lower subalpine zone on Tenerife at some 1900m. Makes numerous branches with most ornamental silvery, densely pubescent leaves, topped by large, bright rose flowers. For any rocky, well drained soil in an always sunny spot in the unheated alpine house or cold wintergarden. IV-VI.
