Pterocephalus lasiospermus

30 (80)cm, a subalpine member endemic to the Cañada depression on Tenerife at some 2000m. It is a freely branching, woody shrub, with short, ovoid to lanceolate leaves and numerous bright pink flowers in early summer. For any rocky, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Ideal for the unheated alpine house or cold wintergarden. Might be tried in the open garden in a protected, sunny spot with shelter from rain. USDA Climate Zone 9. VII-IX.
