Malva punctata (Three Lobed Mallow)

100 (140)cm, Three Lobed Mallow (syn. Lavatera punctata) is an elegant annual native from Syria and Palestine, throughout the eastern Mediterranean. Stems are sparsely covered with stellate hairs and spear shaped to trilobed leaves. Lilac-pink flowers are born in a lax inflorescence. Seeds from a collection made in Jadra/Jiyé (10km S of Beyrouth, Lebanon) growing in rocky soils in full sun. Will readily self-sow under good conditions. V-IX.
