Lobelia polyphylla
70 (120)cm, a semiwoody perennial from Chile with upright, branching stems ending in a raceme with utmost showy, burgundy red, funnel shaped flowers above narrow leaves. For any rich, very well drained, rocky soil in a sunny spot. It is reasonably hardy in Central Europe, yet requires protection from winter wetness and give some extra winter protection (e.g. dry mulch layer). VI-VII.
