Moraea gawleri
15 (45)cm, makes showy pale orange to brownish yellow flowers on slender, upright stalks. Native of sandy to rocky soils from northern Namaqualand to Humansdorp. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Requires a good winter protection (i.e. dry mulch layer). Best grown in pots under frostfree conditions in a cool greenhouse or wintergarden with reduced watering and a winter minimum of some 5°C. VII-VIII.
