50 (120)cm, a tall species with most ornamental bright yellow flowers on branching racemes. Native of semi moist soils from Gifberg to Eastern Cape. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Requires a good winter protection (i.e. dry mulch layer). Best grown in pots under frostfree conditions in a cool greenhouse or wintergarden with reduced watering and a winter minimum of some 5°C.
