300 (400)cm, Blue Elderberry is a beautiful tall shrub with basally branching, upright, woody stems with broad feathered, dark green leaves and terminal, nodding umbels with white flowers followed by most ornamental bluish-grey fruits. These are edible when cooked, and used to make jellies or syrup. Native of open spots in woods in eastern North America. For any humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot.
