Sisyrinchium angustifolium (syn. Sisyrinchium anceps)
20 (30)cm, small blue, lilac-shaded flowers on tall, narrow, lax stalks above narrow, grass like leaves. Native of stony meadows and hillsides in south-western USA. For any rich, stony, very well drained soil in full sun. Excellent in the rock garden. Please note that most nurseries in the US wrongly sell S. bermudianum L. under this name, which is a distinct species (see below). The correct synonym for S. angustifolium is S. bermudiana auct. non. L. V-VII.
