40 (60)cm, a showy and still rarely cultivated evergreen perennial with numerous large, rich yellow flowers above rather broad and iris like, bluish-green leaves. Native of montane meadows in South America. Fully winter hardy in a protected, sunny spot in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot.
