Solanum vespertilio ssp. doramae (Doramas Nightshade) Exclusive

Solanum vespertilio ssp. doramae (Doramas Nightshade) Exclusive
120 (200)cm, Doramas Nightshade is a very rare and endangered subspecies from the northern parts of Gran Canaria, similar to the species. Only two remaining specimens were found in the year 1997 in habitat, so that it might have become extinct in the meantime already. It is a beautiful, easily grown plant with silvery-gray barked branches and larger, mid green, broad ovoid leaves which are only slightly pubescent. It has pendulous racemes with quite large, in comparison to the species darker lilac-purplish flowers, followed by most decorative, smaller than the species, bright orange fruits (poisonous!). For any rich, well drained, rocky soil. Sunny to partially shaded spot in summer, keep drier and sunnier in winter at min. 10°C. Ideal for the slightly heated greenhouse or wintergarden. IX-VII.
