Symphyandra armena
20 (30)cm, an ornamental plant from mountainous rock crevices in the Caucasus to Asia Minor (Anatolia, Iran, and Transcaucasus) growing at up to 3.000m. Makes lose, branching stem with nodding bluish-violet to lavender blue, tubular bells and broad, nearly heart shaped, densely pubescent, basal leaves. Easy in any rich, well drained, rocky soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Excellent in a protected spot in the rock garden. VI-VIII.
