Viola lutea (Blue Vosges Violet)
15 (25)cm, Blue Vosges Violet, in a very nice form with intense dark blue, slightly fragrant flowers. Stabile intermediate forms between the yellow and blue form do not occur in its habitat, some bicolored specimens are F1 crosses between the two forms. From moist meadows NW of Lac Vert, Vogese (France), growing at some 1.080m. For any humus rich and rocky, well drained slightly moist soil in a sunny spot. Excellent in the rock garden. V-VIII.
