20 (40)cm, Chilean Shrub Violet is a perennial with a long, semi woody stem, leathery, dark green serrated oval leaves and pale lilac blue flowers. Native of sunny spots in mountain woods. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Not winter hardy, keep drier in winter at a minimum of some 7°C. Seeds from a wild collection in Chile (V region, Parque Nacional La Campana, Camino a Mina, 700-1100m). V-VI.10 seeds per package.
