Hyoscyamus muticus (Egypt Henbane)

30 (50)cm, Egypt Henbane is a biannual to short lived perennial from Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. It bears terminal racemes with yellow flowers fading to dark violet above somewhat fleshy, bluish-green leaves. Grow preferably as an annual. Sow in pots under glass in early spring at some 20°C and transplant to the garden after the last freezing nights from end of spring to early summer. Our plants are the true species Hyoscyamus muticus and not Hyoscyamus niger what you may be offered by some other vendors. V-IX.
