Thymus polytrichus ssp. britannicus (Wild British Thyme)

5 (10)cm, Wild British Thyme is a mat-forming woody and evergreen perennial native of the United Kingdom. It bears numerous small pink flowers from late spring to mid summer above aromatic small oval leaves. Somtimes this species is included in the very similar Thymus praecox ssp. arcticus (Arctic Thyme). Easily cultivated in any well drained, preferably rocky or sandy soil in full sun. Excellent in the rock garden. VI-VII.
