Sorghum bicolor

250 (400)cm, is a fast growing annual with impressively tall stems crowned by ornamental brownish-black seeds in dense spikes above long lanceolate leaves. It is native of dryish sunny spots in North Africa and is widely cultivated for its' seeds which are roasted and ground into flour. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in full sun. Sow directly to the ground after the last freezing nights in late spring or early summer . VII-X.
