Hedychium longicornutum (Hornbill's Ginger)

40 (70)cm, Hornbill's Ginger grows as an epiphytic plant in its habitat in Southeast Asia and has rather broad leaves and showy terminal dense clusters of tubular reddish-orange flowers with reflexing petals. Despite being an epiphyte, in cultivation it adopts well to any well drained, humus rich soil in a shaded to sunny spot and a winter minimum of preferably not below 20°C. VII-X.
