100 (150)cm, Leadplant or Prairie Shoestring is a small perennial woody shrub with feathered, densely pubescent (i.e. hairy), silvery green leaves. Forms terminal, compact spikes of numerous light purple flowers. Native of open, dry spots in prairie regions and woods in the US. For any rich, well drained, preferably rocky soil in full sun. VI-VIII.
