Lilium nepalense (Lily of Nepal)

150 (180)cm, Lily of Nepal is a tall and rather late flowering species from subalpine zones in the Himalayas from western China to Nepal. Lilium nepalense bears greenish-sulfur, strongly scented flowers with recurved petals and a reddish brown inner throat. For any humus rich, very well drained soil partial shade. Ideal for the shrub border where the dormant bulbs will stay rather dry during dormancy in winter. VIII-X.
