It is native of open spots in forest and thickets and has dark maroon-brown pipe-flowers with a white throat and narrow elliptical leaves. Easily cultivated in any humus-rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year and a winter minimum of some 15°C with reduced watering. Seeds from a Philippine population. VII-X.
