15 (20)cm, False Columbine is a dwarf biennial to short lived perennial species with elegant purplish wine red columbine-like flowers and strongly dissected, almost feathered leaves. It is native of western China (Gansu, Szechuan and Shensi) where it grows in mossy woodland soils. For any partially shaded to sunny spot in any humus rich, always slightly moist, yet well drained soil. IV-V.
