Lycopersicon (Wild Tomato)

Wild Tomatoes or Lycopersicon species originate in the Andes in South America growing as biennials to short-lived perennials in rocky, mountainous slopes and valleys. The fruits of wild species are much smaller than in their numerous (nowadays even genetically modified) cultivars and hybrids, yet usually have a much more aromatic, pleasant taste and are ideal as decoration in salads for example. Some have even ornamental, large sulphurous yellow flowers.
Sow seeds flat in any rich, well drained soil at some 20°C in a sunny spot. Transplant seedlings to a sunny spot in a rich soil after last freezing end of spring.
