Hovenia dulcis (Japanese Raisin Tree)

4 (7)m, Japanese Raisin Tree is a deciduous trees from Japan with oval leaves and terminal inflorescences. The small inconspicuous and nectar rich flowers are much beloved by bees and other pollinators. With maturity of fruits the long peduncles swell and are edible either fresh or dried. They have a delicious taste of raisins with just a little bit of cinnamon. A fully winter hardy plant which is easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. V.
