Penstemon hirsutus (Hairy Beardtongue)

40 (90)cm, Hairy Beardtongue is a perennial with upright, hairy racemes covered with pale violet flower trumpets. It is native of rocky woods and meadows in western Minnesota to eastern New England, and southward to Alabama (USA). For any rich, well drained, preferably slightly rocky soil in full sun. VI-VII.
