Mertensia virginica (Virginia Bluebells)

30 (60)cm, Virginia Bluebells is an utmost showy early flowering, herbaceous clump-forming perennial with bluish-green, entire foliage and very showy, bright sky-blue bellflowers in dense clusters. It is native of rich, semi-moist soils in woods and river floodplains in Missouri (USA). Easily grown in any humus rich, well drained, always slightly moist soil in partial shade. III-IV.
