Lavandula pedunculata (French Lavender)

20 (40)cm, French Lavender (syn. Lavandula stoechas ssp. pedunculata) makes a typical and most ornamental prominent violet-purple bracts. It is native to rocky, sun exposed spots in central Spain and on mountains of north-eastern Portugal. It is sufficiently hardy in any rocky, well drained soil in a protected spot in full sun or under cold glass in an unheated greenhouse or wintergarden. USDA Climate Zone 7/8. VII-VIII.
