Aquilegia vulgaris ssp. nevadensis

100 (120)cm, hardly known and rare, very ornamental subspecies of the common Aquilegia native to open spots in mountain woods in the Sierra Nevada of Spain. Bright violet-blue flowers with greenish tips above silvery-grey, strongly divided foliage and pubescent stems. For a sunny spot in a well drained soil. V-VI.
