Aquilegia viscosa (Sticky Columbine)

50 (80)cm, Sticky Columbine is a rare species from open spots in montane woods in southwestern Europe and southern Italy. It is similar to the common columbine and sometimes referred to as a subspecies of the latter (syn. Aquilegia vulgaris ssp. viscosa). It has light blue to pale lilac flowers on sticky stems. Easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. The offered seeds are a mixture of both colors. V-VI.
