30 (50)cm, Elliott's Calla has broadly lanceolate leaves with ornamental white translucent spots and showy cream-yellow spathes with an inner yellow spadix on some 40cm tall stems. At present this species is known from cultivation only, but it is supposedly native of eastern Transvaal. For any humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot with sufficient moisture in summer. Plants will go dormant in autumn, keep dormant tubers dry at a minimum of some 10°C in winter. USDA climate Zone 9/10. Seed from a clone with very showy pale yellow inflorescences! VI-VII. |
