Senecio varicosus (Balearic Groundsel)

10cm, Balearic Groundsel (syn. Senecio rodriguezii) is a fast growing dwarf perennial from rocky grounds in coastal areas of the Balearic islands in the Mediterranean. It makes dense cushions of greyish-green leaves, which are purple underneath, and numerous small pale rose flowers. An excellent plant for small pots under frostfree conditions, e.g. in the alpine house or in a cool wintergarden. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year and at a winter minimum of some 10°C. I-XII.
