Plantago arborescens ssp. maderensis (Madeira Shrub Plantain)

25 (50)cm, Madeira Shrub Plantain is a woody sub-shrub with linear, dark green leaves. It is native of open rocky spots in central Madeira (Portugal). For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep plants slightly drier at a minimum of some 10°C. USDA climate zone 8. VI-VII.
