Levisticum officinale (Loveage)

120 (200)cm, Lovage is a herbaceous perennial with tall annual stems from a stout rootstock and dark green, shiny, very aromatic leaves. Young leaves and shoots are added to soups and stews and have a parsely-like, yet much stronger, plesant flavor. Easily cultivated in any rich, fresh, well drained soil in a sunny spot. V-VII.
