20 (30)cm, Alpine Sunflower is a most ornamental biannual with very large, bright yellow, short stemmed flowers above a basal wooly leaf rosette. Native of subalpine meadows in southwestern USA. For any rich, well drained soil in full sun. Excellent rock garden plant. VII-VIII.
