Lavandula dentata (French Lavender)

45 (70)cm, French Lavender is a woody, strongly branching, showy perennial from the western Mediterranean. It has silvery-green, densely hairy and strongly aromatic leaves and tall, pale blue flower spikes. In mild climates it is winter hardy in any rocky, well drained soil in a protected and very sunny spot. In colder climates preferably grow in pots under frostfree conditions and a winter minimum of some 5°C with reduced watering. USDA climate zone 8/9. VII-VIII.
