Scabiosa maritima (Sea Pincushion Flower)

100 (150)cm, Sea Pincushion Flower is an annual to biannual species native of sandy to rocky spots in the western Mediterranean. It makes very tall stalks crowned by lavender-rose flower heads above strongly cut leaves. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow directly into the ground in the garden in mid spring. VI-VIII.
