50cm, Watermelon Nightshade is native of dry plains in Mexico (Chihuahua). It is a medium-sized, erect growing annual with quite large, showy lavender-blue flowers on spiny stems followed by small blackish fruits (toxic) embedded in a spiny, beige capsule. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow in spring at some 20°C under glass, transplant seedlings after the last cold nights end of spring to early summer.
