Penstemon centranthifolius (Scarlet Bugler)

60 (100)cm, Scarlet Bugler is a taller Penstemon species which makes several racemes with utmost showy bright scarlet flowers above nicely contrasting greyish-green leaves. It is native in dryish rocky sites from California (USA) to Mexico. For any rich, very well drained soil in full sun. Excellent in a protected spot in the rock garden. VI-VIII.
