15 (30)cm, Common Thyme is a perennial semi-woody species from the western Mediterranean and bears upright hold stems with white to pale rose flowers above strongly aromatic, mint and lime fragrant, linear, greyish-green leaves. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny and protected spot. Ideal for the rock garden. VI-VIII.
