1 (2)m, Red Quinoa is a fast growing annual from the Andes and makes thousands of small, edible seeds which are rich in carbohydrates. Seeds have to be soaked and washed several times to remove bitter and slightly toxic saponins before cooking. Additionally, boiling water should be replaced at least once. For any rich, well drained soil in full sun and sufficient watering in summer at a minimum of some 20°C. In colder regions best grow Quinoa under glass as seeds ripen late and irregularily. V-IX. 100 seeds per package.
