Alcantarea extensa

160 (200)cm, a very showy Alcantarea species from the federal state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It makes a huge rosette of silvery-green leaves with reddish tips and rather large, creamy-white flowers for several weeks. Easily cultivated in large pots in any rich, well drained substrate at a minimum of some 20°C throughout the year. VII-XI.
