40 (80)cm, Sweet Thai Basil, locally called Bai Horapa in Thailand, is a strongly aromatic cultivar of the sweet basil. The opposite, midgreen leaves have a very pleasant, strong anise-licorice taste and are used fresh for soups and salads in various Thai dishes. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Ocimum tenuiflorum is basically a perennial and with time a slightly woody species, however it is usually cultivated as a fast growing annual. VI-VIII. |
