Physochlaina orientalis (Oriental Henbane)

30 (50)cm, Oriental Henbane is a beautiful rhizomatous perennial, summer dormant species with oblong dark green, pubescent leaves and upright stalks with showy, quite large lavender-blue flowers. It is native of montane, rocky slopes from the Caucasus to the Transcaucasus and Turkey. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Excellent in the rock garden. Plants go dormant in summer. IV-V.
