160 (230)cm, Pericallis webbii is the tallest member in its genus. It is a biannual to (rarely) short lived perennial with a very tall, branching stem with large, fresh green to olive green, heart shaped, serrated leaves, white-wooly below and a very broad terminal inflorescence of numerous almost white to pale rose, pink or lilac flowers. Native of rich, slightly moist soils in northern to central parts of Gran Canaria. An isolated population in western Gran Canaria shows plants with an overall more compact growth and broader, always pale rose petals. This particular population will require further taxonomic assessment as it may be considered a new undescribed subspecies. In February 2020 a fire has devastated the pale flowering population, which may eventually not recover. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny (winter) to partially shaded (summer) spot. V-VII. 20 seeds per package.
