Melissa officinalis (Lemon Balm)

30 (80)cm, Lemon Balm is a herbaceous perennial with light green, strongly toothed, egg shaped, pleasantly lemon-scented leaves and small pale yellow axillary flowerss which attract bees and butterflies. The leaves have been used for centuries in potpourris and to prepare teas. It is native of S Europe and N Africa and is easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
