Penstemon rydbergii (Rydberg's Beardtongue)

30cm, Rydberg's Beardtongue is a beautiful dwarf perennial with showy terminal clusters of lilac blue flowers above a basal leaf rosette. It is native of moist mountain meadows from central Washington south to the Columbia River, southward to north-eastern California, eastward to W Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada. For any rich, very well drained, rocky soil in full sun. Excellent in the rocky garden. V-VI.
