Cercis or Judas Trees are excellent garden shrubs or small trees with a spectacular flower display in spring with thousands of rosy-pink to purplish flowers. All judas trees or redbud species are cauliflor, i.e. flowers directly emerge from the stem. They are simply superb, easy going and very robust plants for any soil in a sunny place and should not be missed in any garden! Prior to sowing scarify seed (e.g. carefully scratch the seed coat with fine sandpaper) and soak them in luke warm water for some 48h. Sow at a minimum of some 5°C in any soil in full. If seeds are sowed late in the year, germination may not occur till the following spring. Keep pots in winter protected from rain. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package. |
