Camphor Tree (Cinnamomum camphor) belongs to a broad genus within the family Lauraceae with members growing on all continents, with the exception of Europe and Africa. They are usually evergreen, tall trees with mostly aromatic foliage. The two best known species are the cinnamum tree (Cinnamomum verum and other closely related species) and the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphor). All are easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Tropical species have to be at a minimum of some 15°C in winter with careful watering. Sow flat at a minimum of some 20°C throughout the year in any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot. Keep soil slightly moist, but never wet. 7 seeds per package. |
